Al Hilal Bank Al Hilal Bank (Arabic: مصرف الهلال), one of the fastest-growing banks in the UAE, is a 100% government-owned Islamic bank based in Abu Dhabi. It employs around 800 staff members and currently provides Islamic Personal, Corporate, Treasury, Investment, and Wholesale banking services to over 100,000 customers. Al Hilal Bank operates 25 branches and 120 ATMs across the UAE as well as 3 branches in Kazakhstan. It manages the Al Hilal Global Balanced Fund, the Global Sukuk Fund and the GCC Equity Fund. ==History== Al Hilal Bank was founded in 2008 with an authorized capital of AED 4 billion by the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, an investment arm of the Abu Dhabi Government, with the mission of delivering innovative and fresh banking services adhering to core Islamic values. Six months after formally opening its first four branches, the bank was bestowed the ‘Best Customer Experience’ award at the 2008 Middle East Retail Banking Awards. It has since been the recipient of various local and international industry recognitions, including multiple honors for excellence in regional retail banking bestowed by distinguished award-giving bodies. Al Hilal Bank’s vision is to constantly redefine Islamic banking and set new standards for the sector. Al Hilal Bank now ranks 10th in a highly competitive UAE market shared with nearly 60 other banks and is the first Islamic bank to operate in Kazakhstan.
